Thermography for Breast Cancer Prevention

“Developing breast cancer can be detected before it has the density to be seen on a radiograph, in some cases up to 10 years prior to identification on a mammogram,” says Certified Thermographic Technician Patricia Bowden-Luccardi, who offers full-body imaging at her Manhattan office. “Thermography is perfect for denser breast tissue that makes it difficult for mammograms to detect abnormalities.”
Bowden-Luccardi goes on to explain about the dangers of exposure to endocrine disruptors, which are chemicals and byproducts that mimic the effects of estrogen in the body or cause estrogen to act in a way that isn’t normal. “These estrogens affect breast tissue with distinct heat patterns that can be seen on thermal imaging. You need to know the health of your breast, and thermography can provide you with a visual image of these heat patterns and assess the severity of this syndrome.”
